The National Retail Federation (NRF) noted Americans planned to spend $2.8 billion on Halloween costumes last year, including $350 million on pet costumes. According to a pre-Halloween survey in 2014, the NRF found 14.3% of those surveyed planned to dress up their pets. The most popular costume for Rover? A pumpkin—but other favorites included hot dogs, bees, devils, and (for dogs, presumably) cats.
