There are four stories below. We’ll add more as they become released. Also note we have updated our show schedule.

Submitted by International Market Centers

In light of the new developments with coronavirus (COVID-19) and an overall focus on health and safety, International Market Centers (IMC) today announced adjustments to its spring market calendar.

“The situation with COVID-19 has been evolving daily and we have been navigating business decisions based on concerns about the health and safety of our customers and employees, as well as the overall well-being of our industries,” said Bob Maricich, CEO of IMC. “While we had hoped to host all of our upcoming markets on their original dates, we are taking action to postpone the events in order to mitigate any issues related to this virus.”

VOW | New World of Bridal® – POSTPONED

Originally scheduled March 24-26 in Atlanta, VOW | New World of Bridal is postponed.  We are exploring the best timeframe that addresses the needs of our exhibitors while ensuring a safe and secure environment.

April Atlanta Apparel Market – CANCELLED

Originally scheduled April 14-18, Atlanta April Apparel Market is cancelled. The June Atlanta Apparel Market will take place on June 10-13, 2020 and will subsume this cancelled market.

Spring High Point Market – POSTPONED

The High Point Market Authority announced today the postponement of the Spring High Point Market (originally scheduled for April 25-29) until early June should conditions improve.

Atlanta Spring Cash & Carry – POSTPONED

IMC is exploring opportunities to provide an alternative date during the summer months for the Atlanta Spring Cash & Carry, originally scheduled for May 5-7.

“We hope that this pause in our market schedules will ensure the safety and allow for normalcy to return to our industries,” Maricich added.  “In the meantime, IMC_di, our newly formed digital innovation division, is exploring digital solutions to help our customers stay in contact while the physical market schedules are in flux.  While we prepare for these new dates, we will continue to update our website (imcenters.com) so that we can continually provide any additional new information to all of our customers and clients.”

Dallas Market Center: COVID-19 Coronavirus, Upcoming Events, and Continuing Business

A Message from Dallas Market Center on Upcoming Events & Continuing Business

At Dallas Market Center, we are a family company guided by the principle of working together to help customers no matter what we face. That’s why it’s difficult to make any changes to our scheduled events that will affect our community.

That said, we are following government directives in order to support a healthy and safe marketplace as well as a larger obligation to public health. Therefore, we have canceled the upcoming March Markets and April Design Week.

I want to quickly add that similar to stores and shopping centers across the country, we will remain open for daily business, and our open-daily commerce including showroom appointments is vitally important. We encourage buyers to reach out directly to showrooms in order to make or confirm appointments. Likewise, we will be posting a list of the hundreds of open showrooms to social media and our website. To maintain a safe and healthy marketplace for all visitors, we will also continue to make extra efforts including additional cleaning of vulnerable surfaces and added hand sanitizing stations.

For summer, we are announcing new, earlier dates for our June Apparel & Accessories Market, which will take place June 2-5, and Dallas Western Market, which will also take place June 2-5. The summer edition of Total Home & Gift Market, Lightovation, and KidsWorld will each be held as scheduled beginning on June 24. Please check the latest market calendar for the revised schedule.

Speaking personally, in uncertain times like these we must be there for one another. That means open communication but also keeping our doors open and continuing to welcome customers with a friendly smile. While our behavior may be temporarily changed, we will continue to lead with our hearts and we will get through this together.

Sincerely,
Cindy

Cindy Morris, President and CEO

Media Bulletin: IMC Closes World Market Center Las Vegas To Public in Compliance with Nevada Governor’s Order

March 18, 2020… In line with the forced closure of Nevada casinos and non-essential businesses, International Market Centers (IMC) will close the World Market Center Las Vegas and Las Vegas Design Center to the public as of today, Wednesday, March 18, at 12 noon. The 30-day closure, ordered by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, aims to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

“The situation in Nevada has evolved rapidly and we are reacting to information as soon as we receive it,” said Bob Maricich, CEO of IMC. “We are navigating an unprecedented situation in real time and we appreciate our customers’ patience and partnership as we work to minimize business disruption connected with these new government mandates.”

IMC tenants and staff still will have access to the buildings for essential business support, provided appropriate social distancing is observed. Additionally, construction of the EXPO at World Market Center Las Vegas, a new 315,000-square-foot exhibition facility in downtown Las Vegas, is expected to continue, although distancing requirements will be implemented. The EXPO, which is scheduled to open for the Summer 2020 Las Vegas Market (July 26-30), will house Las Vegas Market’s temporary exhibits.

Through the Nevada Governor’s order, all non-essential businesses statewide, including hotels and casinos will close for 30 days. Only businesses deemed essential, such as grocery stores, medical offices, pharmacies and financial institutions, will remain open. The move is similar to those taken in at least 10 other states, including New York, California, Ohio and Michigan, in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

Las Vegas Market is the leading home furnishings and gift market in the western U.S., presenting 4,300+ furniture, home décor and gift resources in an unrivaled market destination. Las Vegas Market features thousands of furniture, home décor and gift lines, allowing for cross-category commerce among these industries. Summer 2020 Las Vegas Market runs July 26 – July 30, 2020, at World Market Center Las Vegas. For more information, visit www.lasvegasmarket.com.
